Scarborough 231 for 9 Denaby  85

Scarborough made sure of finishing at the head of the Yorkshire Council table, thereby gaining ground advantage in the Council semi final by heating Denaby. Wainwright, the Denaby captain, sent Scarborough in, and in the two hours 25 minutes at their disposal under the compulsory declaration rule, the seasiders made  a merry 231 for nine wickets.

It looked like being late match when Denaby came out, but there was a surprise finish,  Scarborough bowlers finding the wicket much to their liking that they had skittled Denaby for 85 an hour before the compulsory rule would have operated.

Richardson, who was clean bowled after scoring only one run for Scarborough, took three Denaby wickets for 19; Knowles look three for 29.
