DISASTROUS FOR DENABY
Denaby and Cadeby failed dismally in their match at Shiregreen on Whit Monday, on a lively and unpredictable wicket, with the ball sometimes rearing chest high and at others keeping desperately low.
The Denaby batsmen could do very little against the pace of Silberry (5 for 8) and Hartley (4 for 20). In their all out 28, only Cory (10) offered any serious resistance.
When Shiregreen batted they also found runs difficult to obtain and lost four wickets in knocking up 29. Flaherty was their mainstay, hitting 21 of the first 22 runs. Lawley bowled well for Denaby, taking 3 for 7.
