Another big crowd saw the match at Wath on Monday. Wath, batting first scored rapidly, Swinburne, Shaw, Hargreaves and Clark finding the Denaby fielders plenty of work.

Denaby, however, were not happy with the bowling of Richards and Deighton, with the exception of Carlin and Greenwood, who hit 65 of Denaby’s 87. Richard’s got two wickets with consecutive balls, and took five for 36, Hargreaves took five for 30. For Denaby Greenwood took 3 for 28, and Kennedy three for 38.
