Denaby Claim Dismissed

A claim for £17 7s. 9d. in respect of damages caused to his motor-cycle by the alleged negligent driving of one of the defendant’s servants was brought at Doncaster County Court on Wednesday by John Kipling Dinsdale son of the licensee of the Denaby Main Hotel, Denaby, the defendants being the Shell Mex and B.P. Company, Ltd.

Mr. A E. Maith, for the plaintiff, said Dinsdale was travelling up Dale Street, Conisborough, on his motor-cycle on October 26th, and was going to go into Castle Street, when he was run into by one of defendant’s lorries.

Skid marks in Castle Street, which the lorry driver admitted were caused by his vehicle, showed that the lorry was considerably on its wrong side of the road. Defendant’s case was that the motor-cyclist was at fault.

The claim was dismissed without costs
