Denaby Four Meet the Duke
Four members of the Denaby St John Ambulance Corps yesterday attended St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, to receive the insignia of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem and be invested as Honorary Serving Brothers of the Order.
They are Corps Officer George Williams, 157, Fitzwilliam Road, Rotherham (Denaby Division); Ambulance Officer J. W. Cooke, 10, Wheatley Street, Denaby (Denaby Division) Staff Sergeant Frank Ward, Bolton Street, Denaby (Denaby Division), and Sergeant L. Johnson, Cliff View, Denaby (Mexboro Division).
The Installing officer was the Duke of Gloucester.
Denaby Main Ambulance Corps have a distinguished record of service in the St John Ambulance Brigade and these latest honours bring the number of ambulance men and women in the Corps who have been Invested as Honorary serving Brothers and Sisters to 16.
