Denaby Gate stays at 1/–

Midland League gate charges at Denaby next season will remain at one shilling.

This decision, reversing that taken at the club’s annual general early in the year, was made at a special meeting called by the General committee.

Season ticket charges are been fixed as follows:

Full season card, first and second team matches, inclusive of reserve seat in the stand, 32s 6d
Admittance to ground for contributors at the collieries 18 s
Non contributors 20 s
Ladies and boys 9s
Old age pensioners 1s 6d (an increase of 6d).

Several splendid gestures to the club have been made by members of the committee and by other local well-wishers and it is hoped – and felt – that willing and voluntary assistance which these gestures involved will more than offset any possible loss of income through the decision to leave the gate charge at a shilling.

Councillor H Peat has become the new president of the supporters club, Mr H Goodlad is chairman and Mr F.G. Lewis, well appreciated for his enthusiastic work in the past, is secretary.

The club, still busily enrolling new members, is meeting each Monday night at the Welfare Hall and is continuing, as ever, to do a grand job of work for Denaby United F.C.
