Denaby Husband Humoured

Mrs William Henry Wood, of Denaby, said it was quite true her husband had been abusive on Saturday week – PC Rushton said the man was drunk – “if you spoke to him nicely,” the wife told the officer, “there would have been no trouble. But you don’t know how to humour my William Henry.”

The chairman told her to be quiet.

“What’s the use of coming here if you can’t talk?” She retorted
