Denaby leads Collieries in 1890

Denaby still keeps at the head of the South Yorkshire collieries in the matter of the Hullcoal trade.

This Is only natural, as this colliery is nearer to the great Yorkshire port than any other.

During the year 1890, 176,872 tons of coal were forwarded to Hull from Denaby Main, and 126,800 from Manvers Main.

No other colliery in Yorkshire reached six figures, the nearest being Wharncliffe Silkstone with 85,400, Elsecar with 72,986, Monk Bretton with 70,776, and Thrybergh Hall with 68,472.
