Roll of Honour

Among the names contained in the role of honour presented to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster by the Duke of Gloucester on Tuesday week was that of a Denaby man.

Mr Albert Whittaker (42), Civil Defence leader, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Clifton Street.

He was injured in December 1944 at Wetherby and died on January 4, 1945 in Denaby. The Roll was compiled by the Imperial War Graves commission, and lists the names of millions who were killed in the United Kingdom as a result of enemy action during the last war.
