Dancing to be a Career

Eric Smith, 22-years-old insurance agent, of Blythe Street, Denaby, is leaving insurance soon to become a stage dancer. He has just passed a British Ballet Organisation examination with flying colours, especially commended, with an “excellent” in tap dancing.

Eric, who began dancing at the age of 18, is a member of the South Yorkshire Musical Comedy Society in Mexborough, and is to take one of the principal parts in their next show, “Rio Rita,” next month. Opposite him will be Miss Agnes White, of Kilnhurst, who first encouraged him to take up ballet and tap dancing.

Eric has already had an offer to join the Scarborough Open Air Theatre but has turned it down.
