Denaby Men before the Doncaster Magistrates
Richard Wesley and Frank Moxon, colliers, Denaby, were yesterday charged before the Borough magistrates at Doncaster—Moxon with assaulting Police-constable Scarlett and using bad language, and Wesley with being drunk and disorderly.
On Sunday afternoon the men were turned out of the Leopard Inn, and created a disturbance. The officer was taking Wesley into custody, when the man threw himself down and Moxon came and struck Scarlett behind, knocking him down.
Both men were locked up, and were each fined 20s. and 21s. 6d. costs, or 20 days’ imprisonment.
