Denaby Milk Dealer Fined

A milk dealer living at Denaby, and named Albert Edward Bury, incurred some unnecessary expense by allowing his horse and vehicle to remain in the street at Denaby Main for a considerable time, unattended, and therefore without control.

Police Sgt Woodall stated that at 11:45 a.m. on 14th December, he had seen the horse and cart belonging to defendant standing in the street for a lengthy period, while defendant made his way across the railway to a place 250 yards distant, during which time there was no one to look after the horse, which constituted an obstruction to the traffic.

PC Jenkinson corroborated, and Mrs Bury, who represented defendant, said her husband was new to the business and had no one to look after the horse in his absence. She appeared to be very much affected, from some cause or other, that at conclusion of the statement fainted, being conveyed from the court.

The Bench made an order for payment of 2/6 and costs.
