Denaby Miners Theft.

Yesterday, at the Doncaster Borough Police Court, James Gordon, Denaby was , charged on remand with stealing about 14 shillings in money, a handkerchief and a pit check, from John Ruine, of Denaby on Saturday night.

The parties were drinking together in Doncaster when prosecutor was pushed by the prisoner and felt a hand in his pocket.

He afterwards missed his money. When prisoner was apprehended there were found upon him 10s. 11d in money and prosecutors pit check.

Prisoner was sentenced to one month imprisonment with hard labour.
