Health Week
this week is been recognised as “Health We” in the local schools, which had been visited by the Medical Officer, Doctor J McArthur, who has delivered addresses on hygiene
The Crossing.
The serious obstruction of road traffic frequently occurring at the level, crossing was, mentioned at a recent meeting of the Conisborough Urban Council
The nuisance shows no signs of abatement. On Tuesday afternoon, for instance, traffic was held up for a considerable time an nearly thirty vehicles of all sorts were strung oat behind the gates whilst shunting was going on. The only real and permanent remedy is the provision of a road bridge.
Canon Leteux.
In the Large Hall on Friday evening about 250 persons attended a carnival arranged in celebration of the 40fih anniversary of the ordination of Canon Leteux. Mr. R. J. Whitlam was the M.C. The hall was decorated with carnival effects. The proceeds will be devoted to the school or church funds. On Sunday morning Canon Leteux sang High Mass in commemoration of his anniversary. Sunday, being also “Rosary Sunday,” a special service was held in the evening.
