Denaby Notes
The sad death on Monday of Thomas Walker, the three-year-old son of Mr and Mrs J Walker, of 69, Annerley Street, Denaby Main, should make people realise the danger of leaving tubs of barrels sunk into the ground without covers which can be locked or not easily removed. In this case, unfortunately, a tub was left uncovered and a little boy strayed from his mother’s side and fell into it.
Mr J. T. Burns and another man got the child out. The ambulance man at the Denaby colliery was called to the scene and rendered artificial respiration for over half an hour until Dr. J. McArthur arrived.
