Swine fever
An outbreak of swine fever occurred at Denaby Main on Saturday, when one of the pigs in the possession of Mr. Richard Walton, of 90, Doncaster Road, was attacked and died almost immediately.
The matter was at once reported to the police. It was discovered that the case was one of swine fever, and the rest of the animals (three in number) were ordered to be destroyed.
This was done on Tuesday in the presence of an inspector from the board of agriculture, and the place has been declared as infected area.
A parish council election will take place at Denaby shortly, the last having been declared informal.
At a meeting of the Doncaster board of guardians on Saturday Mr. Chambers (Denaby) gave notice of the proposal to appoint a committee to proceed with the erection of the new workhouse.
