Won First Place in Junior Canoe  Event

A Haskey, a 17 year old sapper of 16 Denaby Avenue, Conisbrough who is now at the Junior Leaders Regimen, R.E.Dover, spent his Easter competing in the annual Devizes to Westminster canoe race and won first place in the junior event.

Haskey, who was partnered by another canoeist from Dover, V Flook, set out on the first leg of the course on good Friday, and that the end of the day were 22 minutes in the lead, the pair held this leading to the finish, and their time  of 19 hours, 18 minutes, 32 seconds easily gain the first place
