Denaby United 2 Scarborough 0
Denaby beat Scarborough 2-0 in a splendid match played at a very fast pace. It deserved a better “gate.”
Scarborough, after a great start, became over-eager when half-time came and they were a goal down. This had been scored Smith (C.), who headed in a pass from Betteridge.
But Denaby went further ahead when Morallee was ‘bowled over and Woodhead scored from the subsequent penalty.
Denaby’s new goalkeeper, Smith (A.), Justified his inclusion, showing good anticipation, whilst Norman Hammond, the young amateur centre-half, was a tower of strength.
