Denaby United  3  Leeds City Reserve 1 – Denaby’s Double

Denaby’s Double

Denaby United  3  Leeds City Reserve 1

By defeating Leeds City Reserve three to one, Denaby completed the good work started with their victory over Bradford City Reserve, and brought off an Eastertide “double” in accordance with local expectations.

The Leeds second string played poor football. Denaby did three-fourths of the pressing, and always held their opponents comfortably. As game it was too one-sided to be really interesting, and even when Denaby appreciably slackened off towards the end the Leeds forwards showed elementary form in front of goal, a point towards the end just saving them from absolute ineffectiveness,

Denaby, although winning so easily, did not touch their best form. Still the points were deservedly earned

Tufnell (two) and Glennon got Denaby’s goals.
