Denaby United Notes

Denaby Win Again

As was confidently expected by their supporters, Denaby got the better of Highthorn by three goals to nil. Today the local team meet Lincoln city on Denaby ground. The team being chosen as follows: Hancock; Welsh, Lawley; Lees, Nimrod, Arnold; Docherty, Tomkins, Torr, Lavery, and Heppinstall.

Docherty Cautioned

It will be remembered that Docherty was offered off the field by the referee during their cup tie match with Hull City. Most people expected that he would be suspended for some time, but contrary to general expectations he has been off with a caution. This has been largely brought about by a letter from the Hull City club, and the Denaby committee are correspondingly grateful for Doherty is a fine player and his absence would be greatly felt at the present time.

Christmas Day Treat

A great game is being looked for between Denaby and Mexborough on Christmas Day, and the supporters on both sides are confidently expecting their team to pull it off. Our own opinion is that if Denaby play to their usual formation just about secured two points from their neighbours.
