Denaby United Report Financial Loss.

The annual general meeting of the Denaby United F.C. was held in the Miners’ Welfare Institute, Denaby Main, during the week-end, Mr. B. Kelly presiding over an enthusiastic gathering.

The club have lost £90 on the season’s working, but taking into consideration the payment of £103 compensation claims for last season’s players, the season has been a highly successful one.

The balance sheet, read by Mr. A. Davis, shows an income of £1,302 5s. 5d., including “gate” receipts of £384, workmen’s contributions £601, allocation grant £60, and members contributions £52. On the expenditure side, wages were £926.

The following officials were elected for the ensuing year: President. Mr. L. C. Hodges; chairman, Mr. B Kelly; secretary manager, Mr. P. Harrison; financial secretary, Mr. A. Davis, together with a committee of 20.

Sheldon and Gilchrist are the top scorers with 15 to their credit, while Hughes is the only ever-present, having made 37 appearances.
