Denaby United Signing

Full Back From Corby

Colin Jordan, a 24-years-old left back who last week secured his release from Southern League club, Corby Town, was signed as a professional by Denaby United on Friday night.

Jordan, whose home is in Rockingham Street, Fitzwilliam, near Hemsworth, was to have played in the Midland League side to meet Goole Town on Saturday, but the match had to be postponed because use of bad ground conditions.

United Secretary-manager, Mr Arthur Roberts, had announced on Wednesday that a first team signing was expected during the course of the week, but he was not in a position to disclose the player’s name.

All he could say was that the management committee hoped to effect the signing in time to include the player—a left full back —in the first team on Saturday.

Jordan, who has also attracted the attention of League clubs, was previously with Bradford Park Avenue.
