Denaby Utd.: Another Gift

Bernard McGuinness, Denaby United left-half who has been out of the side since Christmas through illness, was back in training at Tickhill Square on Tuesday evening and is included in the side to visit Halifax Reserves to-morrow.

Hibbert is on the sick list and the team will be: Mayhall; Williams, Lockwood; Saxton, Lee, McGuinness; Boardman, Clark, Platt. Edwards, Rowney.

The Supporters’ Club, who last week made a grand gesture to the Football Club by giving them £50 to aid them in their present financial difficulties, have supplemented that aid this week by a further gift of £30.

Denaby United President Sam Peck told me this week , “The Supporters’ Club are definitely taking their jackets off to keep us going and there is no one appreciates it more than I do and the Board of Management.”

That sentiment was warmly expressed to delegates of the Supporters’ Club who attended Tuesday’s football club – management meeting on Tuesday evening by Mr., Peck and by Mr. C. R. Sanderson, club chairman, who sincerely endorsed the club’s deep appreciation. The Supporters’ Club, of which Mr. F. G. Lewis is enthusiastic and hard-working secretary, are certainly doing a grand job of work.
