Misfortune Dogs United

Boston Town  3   Denaby United  2

Denaby United met with grave misfortune in their last match of 1950, at Boston on Saturday, losing outside-left Holmes, who has proved a real acquisition to the forward line, breaking his collar bone within a couple of minutes of the start of the second half.

Denaby were then leading 1-0, PLATT having scored in the 15th minute. They lost 3-2, further scorers being WALLACE (penalty), DELEW and OXBOROUGH (formerly of Denaby) and CLARK.

Clark, with seven goals, is now leading goalscorer at Denaby, followed by Edwards (6), who has missed several matches through Injury.

Denaby played grand football, notably in the first half, when Boardman’s wizardry was often a highlight.
