Still in the Doldrums
Denaby United, who have taken only three points from Midland League fixtures since the beginning of the year, were beaten 3–1 in Saturday’s return game at Boston after forcing a late draw with Boston at Denaby a week earlier.
All the goals came in the first half in Saturday’s match, Sarson putting Denaby ahead only for Wheeler, Croft and Charlesworth to reply for Boston.
Denaby opened the second half strongly, but the principal feature of this half was their defensive work, in which A. Lee excelled.
Denaby are engaged at Dinnington to-morrow in a semi-final of the Sheffield Senior Cup.
