Sheffield Independent — Monday 25 January 1904
Denaby United 1 Doncaster Rovers 2
At Denaby in fine weather, and before 2,000 spectators, the treacherous ground spoiled accurate shooting.
Denaby had the best of the game for the last ten minutes, but clever work by the visitors’ forwards ended in Dyer scoring beautifully. Nimrod then equalised.
On resuming Roberts added another for the Rovers from a corner. Successive attacks by the visitors were stoutly repulsed, the home defence proving sound. The game ended with the visitors pressing.
Result:
Doncaster Rovers — 2 goals
Denaby United — 1 goal
