One Goal Enough.

Denaby United 1 Doncaster United 0

Never an easy side to beat, Doncaster United somehow held out for 75 minutes at Tickhill Square on Saturday to give championship – hunting Denaby United a run for their money.

For most of the game, Doncaster were pinned in their own half and seemed content to rely on the occasional breakaway for goal chances – a policy which explains why they have scored over 30 less goals than Denaby this season.

But Doncaster have also conceded less goals than all but the top two Yorkshire League Division Two clubs and they were giving nothing away until the 75th minute when. Predictably, Denaby’s thrill-a-minuite inside forward Ken Launders found a way past the brave Chapman in the Doncaster goal.
