Harrogate put up Fine Defence at Denaby.
Denaby United 1 Harrogate 1
Denaby United, at home before a crowd of 1,500, yesterday, obtained a point front Harrogate, who came with ten men, but Wood, the left back, turned up just before the interval.
The visitors put up a stout defence under heavy pressure, but were badly let off by Brayshaw and Ballance, while Gale dealt brilliantly with a great drive from Ashton and was lucky with a similar effort front Froggatt, which hit the bar.
Denaby opened the scoring after 38 minutes, Ballance passing to Burkinshaw, who ran the ball almost into goal before shooting. Harrogate did better in the second half, and Gedney equalised with a lovely shot 25 minutes after the resumption.
Denaby attacked briskly toward the close, with no luck and little method.
Result :– Denaby United 1 Harrogate 1
