Denaby’s Big Defeat
Denaby United suffered another home defeat, this time a heavy one losing 7-1 to Sheffield Wednesday Reserves.
At no time did Denaby show any dash and the experienced Sheffield team were never extended. Denaby suffered an early set-back when Langford received an ankle injury and had to leave the field.
Sheffield have now scored 29 goals in their last four games and conceded only six. Shepherd did well in the Denaby defence. Denaby appear to have discovered a useful outside-right in 16-year-old BENNETT, who scored their only goal.
Scorers for Sheffield were WOODHEAD (2). RUDGE (2), FOX (2) and THOMPSON. The two clubs meet for the third time on Saturday, at Owlerton.
