Worksop Win at Denaby.
Denaby United 1 Worksop Town 4
Worksop Town secured a creditable victory at Denaby yesterday, when they defeated the United in a Midland League match by 4-1.
From first to last Worksop dominated the game, and their superiority was apparent in every department. Denaby gave trials to two new players, Taylor, a forward and Webster, a full-back, who, however, hardly realised expectations.
The home side opened the score through Hensman, who headed in from a corner kick after about 20 minutes’ play. Ballance equalised shortly afterwards with a brilliant long shot, and before the interval arrived Worksop went ahead by two goals, scored by Lilley and Ballance, In the second half Ballance completed his “hat trick.”
In the closing stages Peters, the Denaby captain, was ordered off for rough play.
