Played on the ground of the former, Saturday.
The home club was not up its usual strength.
Denaby, who lost the toss, occasionally assumed the aggressive, but only once successfully during the first half, when Goodlad sent a rapid shot into the net. Aston managed to score twice before the interval.
Crossing over, Denaby increased the pace, and G Goodwin was in particularly conspicuous. It was chiefly due to his energy that the home team managed to equalise.
Play continued of an even character, Aston made plucky attempts to win, but Whitehouse was well on the alert in the goal – mouth and Harvey and Goodlad proved very useful.
