The first match in Denaby United 10 games in 26 days phase – against Goole Town at Tickill Square on Saturday – added another two valuable points to the “kitty”, two more goals to Cliff Martin’s tally and two more towards the hundred in the for column: all of which was eminently satisfactory – but the customers could be excused for feeling a little disappointed with the game itself.
