Denaby pressed early on, but Harvey saved grandly. Play for a short time was tame, but subsequently improves, and Goodlad scored after 12 minutes. Hunslet defended well, but Denaby kept up the pressure. Eventually Murray scored for Hunslet. Denaby had slightly the best of matters, and Lemine was active.
Five minutes before half-time Ryan scored for Denaby and Lemoine frustrated splendid attempts. Half-time: Denaby two goals; Hunslet one goal.
Resuming, Hunslet pressed, but were repulsed by sound defence. Play will fairly fast and even, each defence being good. Hunslet had hard lines in a melee, but eventually Connor equalised.
Hunslet kept up the pressure, but failed to score.
