New Experience for Denaby.
Denaby United 2 Leicester Fosse Reserve 1
United tasted the sweets of victory on Saturday for the first time this year. This fact will probably surprise many readers in view of the comfortable position the “Colliers” occupy in the Midland League, and more particularly because their recent good form away from home. And now after five successive draws, Denaby have got on the winning track again.
They defeated Leicester Fosse Reserve by two goals to one, after being Saturday strangers to their home enclosure for over a month. The attendance for this normal match was one of the best of the season,. That draw against was practically a First Division Fosse team at Leicester week previous gave Denaby football impetus.
This game was a good one; fast and open, with plenty of exciting incident at each goal-mouth. The Fosse forwards were clever, but Denaby’s dash was the most pronounced, and the latter’s victory was well earned. Swinbourne, Nimrod, Kelley, E. Westwood, Hartley, and Ball showed up well in a uniformly good side.
Marsh and Nimrod got Denaby’s goals.
