Lincoln Just Beat Denaby.

Denaby United 2       Lincoln City 3

(Lowe Bull)                             (Morris (2). Ormiston)

The visit of Lincoln City, the probable champions of the Midland League, to Denaby, provided an interesting fixture. Much depended on the result of the match, for had the colliery team beaten the League leaders, Bradford City would have come into closer touch with the championship.

Lincoln’s victory, however, was accomplished in the last minute of the game, and a draw would perhaps have better represented the exchanges. The visitors played fine football throughout. Wilson, Grundy, McCann, and roster, being especially prominent.

On the home side, Mosley did very well at centre-forwards and kept the line moving to advantage, whilst the shooting of “Johnny” Lowe was one of the features of the game.
