Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Monday 18 April 1910
Denaby again Win.
Denaby United 2 Lincoln City Reserve 0
Being their fifth match inside ten days, Denaby United naturally showed signs of wear and tear in their home match with Lincoln City Reserve, though without being extended, they ran out comfortable winners by two goals to none.
The stormy weather, and the fact that neither side had any serious issue stake, robbed the fixture of attractiveness and the teams finished with the crowd “swamped out.” Gregory (right back) and Kelley (centre-half) both a fine game for Denaby and of the others. Dyal, Westwood, and Nimrod were always rendering good service.
Lincoln were strongest in defence. Savage, Hibbert and Kirk presenting stubborn front against the Denabv attack, which was weak at close quarters, mainly through indifferent shooting, and Tufuell, the centre, being sadly off colour.
Denaby have one more heme match, versus Rotherham County
