Rawmarsh-Parkgate: Total Eclipse in Sheffield Senior Cup Semi-Finals
Third Chapter of Stocksbridge–Denaby United Meetings
It will be a Stocksbridge-Denaby United Senior Cup final. Stocksbridge beat Parkgate 3-2 at Denaby and Denaby beat Rawmarsh 3-1 at Dinnington in Saturday’s semi-finals, to produce the third chapter of Denaby-Stocksbridge cup meetings this season. Denaby knocked Works out of the English Cup at their second attempt in October.
At Dinnington
Denaby won at Dinnington with goals by Law (2) and Showler. Rowbottom scored for Rawmarsh. It was a heartening success for United supporters after recent Midland League reverses.
Ward, the Rawmarsh goalkeeper, saved a hot shot in the first minute of a half in which Denaby showed their superiority. SHOWLER gave United the lead after 20 minutes and five minutes later, following a well placed centre by Wilkinson, LAW headed in.
The two goals in the second half came at the end, LAW scoring for Denaby in the last minute and ROWBOTTOM following him with virtually the last kick of the match.
