First League Win for five months

Denaby Utd 3, Scunthorpe Utd. 2

The question that must be lingering in the minds of Denaby United supporters is whether their team can maintain the definite improvement they showed against Scunthorpe United Res.’ on Saturday

Denaby’ s 3-2 v victory over the Lincolnshire team was their first Midland League win since October 11th.

The man behind the victory was top-scoring centre-forward Paul Swaby whose 80th minute goal was the winner Swaby—nick-named “Lone Wolf’ by the Denaby supporters—could have had more goals in this match but he got the winner and that’s all that mattered. His roving tactics and tenacity were a continual source of trouble

There is still room for Improvement in the Denaby shooting and they squandered many chances, often through over-eagerness,

Miller Worked Hard

Centre-half Miller was a hard-worker in Denaby’s defence but the main source of trouble came from. Scunthorpe’s left-winger Donnelly who netted both his side’s goals.

Denaby’s first goal came after 45 seconds, Smith raced down the right wing and after Williams had partially stopped his shot he followed up to score from the rebound.
