Denaby United 3 Thornhill United 1

At Denaby, in fine weather, and before only a moderate attendance, Ryan opened the scoring for Denaby shortly after adding another.

Walton next raised Denaby’s score nearing the interval.

For the remainder of the play Denaby were altogether the sharper on the ball, but Thornhill scored through Saul.

On resuming, Denaby attacked, and playing hard lines, the ball scraping past, they continued fast, both ends being hotly assailed in turn.

Newsome shot in, but it was a doubtful point, and was disallowed by the referee.

Thornhill played splendidly from Copnall.

The finish saw Denaby pressing hard, but the score remained unaltered.

Result: Denaby United, 3 goals; Thornhill United, 1 goal.
