Denaby Trial Pivot Shines

Poor football was seen at Tickhill Square where Denaby United beat Wath Wanderers 3-0.  The first half was slightly in favour of Wath, while in the second half Wath from the start adopted the wrong tactics, which led to their downfall.

Denaby’s first goal came when Meddlicott passed down the middle for Briggs to race and shoot into an empty net. From the far side of the field near the half way line Meddlicott scored a great goal which had Hanaby beaten all the way.  The third goal came from Webster, who had been in the thick of it all the time, cut in to score.

In the closing stages Denaby were on top.  The outstanding player on the field was Senior, on trial at centre-half for Denaby.  He broke up many promising Wath attacks.
