Denaby Experiment Succeeds.
Denaby United 4 Lincoln City Reserves 3
Denaby United secured victory over Lincoln City Reserves four goals to three, after having played four successive games to earn a single point.
The feature the game was the success of Rodgers, who filled the centre-forward berth with skill and enterprise. He has previously played at back in the reserve side. Taylor and Hunter were apt to get flurried against a fast-moving Lincoln attack, which Keeting was a power. Russell, in the visitors’ goal, gave great display, and Birch, between the other sticks, brought off two sensational saves from Maidment when Lincoln were granted a penalty.
Wroe, Rodgers (two) and Ingledew scored for Denaby, and Maidment, Keeting, and Osgerby for City
