After a fairly even first half in which the only goal was scored was by Hurley, Denaby had matters all their own way in this first round replay at Tickhill Square, on Monday.

In the second half, despite good work by Greaves, in the Thurnscoe goal, Denaby added three goals through Lovell (two) and Whitehouse, but the score might have been much higher had Denaby’s goalmouth chances been accepted.

Denaby included only Madin of their Midland league side, but their defence was always too good for Thurnscoe. Hare was particularly outstanding. Sage, for Thurnscoe tried hard to stem the tide but Denaby were well on top.
