Denaby United  5  Hull City Reserves  2

Four goals by Black, the young inside-right, helped United to beat Hull City Reserves 5—2. Although Denaby had the wind behind them in the first half the scores were level at the interval, Mountney scoring from a free kick for the home side, and Havelock equalising for Hull following a corner.

Wraith, Denaby’s inside left, was the outstanding player on the field, while Brannan also did a lot of good work.

Wombwell  3  Grantham   0

There was no end the season spirit about the manner in which Wombwell beat Grantham by 3 —0. Briggs opened Wombwell’s account in the first half, and the score was added to W. Jones and Ashmore after the interval.

Reeves did splendidly in the Grantham goal. Barratt as a clever back. The outstanding players the Wombwell side were Waring, Briggs, Harden, and Hobson.
