Denaby’s Fine Finish.

Denaby United 5 Newark 1

Denaby United, on their own ground, brought a successful season a close, by handsomely defeating Newark fixe goals to one.

Newark tried all out, but were palpably overplayed. Though missing the Midland League Championship by the narrow margin of two points, Denaby have every reason to feel gratified not only climbing to the position of runners-up with a record 54 points, but with going through the season without being beaten at home, where all their matches have been won, with the exception of three drawn games, which came,’ curiously enough, just when the Championship fight was at its hottest.

Besides this distinction, the “Villagers” have lost fewer matches than any other team in the league.
