Denaby’s Attack Sparks Into Life

Denaby United 5, Ossett Albion 1

DENABY UNITED might have been expected to beat Ossett Albion in the Yorkshire League on Saturday, but the handful of spectators cannot have expected the five goals they got from Denaby.

The match began as a midfield-dominated struggle with a lack of cohesion in attack, but in the 30th minute Brian PARKER endorsed Denaby’s .general domination with a first-time goal.

Plenty of incisive through balls sped to the home side attack from Roger Whittaker, but they failed to make conclusive use of them.

Ossett tried hard to reply, but could not equalise until the 55th minute through GREENWOOD. Denaby grabbed the game right back again with a flurry of goals from WOOD (2), WHITTAKER and a CAUNT penalty.
