At Denaby, on Monday, the ground being very hard and slippery. Sheffield played only 10 players and Denaby had the best of the initial portion, scoring twice through Chadfield and Hardy.
Resuming, Denaby continue to be aggressive, and Dudhill scored a third goal with a long shot. From a scrimmage McNeil added a fourth, and the next minute, Chadfield a fifth.
Most of the play was in the Sheffield quarters, the latter rarely reaching Hardy. Denaby spoilt several chances, shooting badly and Sheffield improved, but without being successful.
