Denaby United 6 Heanor Town 2
Before 1,300 spectators Denaby United, without showing any great form, comfortably vanquished Heanor Town by 6—2, after twice being in arrears.
Marsh opened the scoring for Heanor; Windle equalised. Mansfield again gave the visitors the lead, but goals from Hetherington and Kelly (penalty) gave Denaby the advantage before the cross-over.
In the second half Kelly (2) and Rowe added to Denaby’s total.
Heanor’s last lines, despite the big defeat, played well, Eley getting an ovation the end of the game.
