Denaby Overwhelm Forest Reserve.
Denaby United 6 Nottingham Forest Reserve 1
A victory six goals to one tells the story of how Denaby ran through the Forest. The latter were reduced to comparative and impotency by the greater strength, the sustained method, and the brilliant marksmanship of the home players, gave an exposition of ripe understanding between forwards and half-backs.
The fine generalship of the Denaby centre-half was always conspicuous, and he, with Nimrod put an effective brake on the forest attack. Denaby, save for a tendency to falter at full-back, repeatedly thrilled the crowd with sensation. The shooting of the forwards was unusually good and it gathered strength with success. The veteran Iremonger was figuring at right back for Forest, but neither he Nora is colleague, Gibson could hold the extreme wingers opposed to them. Padley, the Denaby centre, was a capable pivot and Marsh and Ball made up a fine left-wing, and the former is fast becoming a reliable goal getter. He got two goals, as did Lowe, the outside right, the latter’s speed being always noticeable.
