Denaby United Beat Notts Reserve

Notts County Reserves 1 Denaby United 2

At Meadow Lane, Nottingham, last Thursday, Denaby, at the expense of Notts Reserves, secured their fourth victory of the campaign.

There was a good attendance, and a trial was given to the brothers Sutton, of Arnold.

Within five minutes of the start Notts took the lead through Bird, but the visitors quickly drew level, Lang scoring.

From that point till ten minutes before the interval play was of an even character.

Then Denaby pressed hotly, and Blackburn succeeded in placing the visitors ahead.

The second portion was of a quiet description. Midway through, Carthorne, who was making his first appearance since his injury in November, had to leave the field, he having given way.

Near the end Notts were awarded a penalty against Peters for handling, but Tomlinson’s shot hit the bar, and the ball was got away.

Result: Denaby United 2, Notts Res. 1.
