Denaby’s New Back – Hunter

Denaby are as strong as ever in defence, and it was as well in the opening matches that they were, for the attack is weak yet. A right winger has yet to be found, for neither Matthews nor Lee have filled the place well.

Bromage, Taylor and Hunter were the big men of the games at Wath and with Frickley at Denaby.

Hunter is the best acquisition the club has had for some time. He is a product of Sheffield junior football and last season was reserve back for Brighton and Hove Albion, playing some games in the Football League side. He is cool and steady, takes positions well, kicks strongly and places the ball.

He and Windle kept the Frickley left-wing in subjection on Saturday, though the loss of Bisby was a heavy one to the club it is not likely to be noticed while Hunter remains, if this is to be his normal form.
